Unless you are there during peak beach season, and water sports are a big draw for you, I think the island would get monotonous after a couple days. The south side of the island has another large pay parking lot with access to South Beach and the Tybee Island Pavilion. Although sometimes difficult to incorporate it into your day at Tybee Island, it’s worth a stop if you have time. Unfortunately, the center has limited hours. The Tybee Island Marine Center has a self-guided tour and several marine animal exhibits. While views of the beach are obscured, the sauteed shrimp steeped in butter and cajun seasoning are worth a stop here. Near North Beach there are limited amenities, but North Beach Bar and Grill was a surprising treat. A boardwalk connects the parking lot to the beach and you’ll find the sand littered with shells.
